Poem: “Not Right”

admin POEM 0 Comments

I can’t make the world perfect
For my kids
This isn’t right
That doesn’t fit
I don’t want it like that
Mom, why aren’t you
helping me?
Why?
A very good question
Try as I might
It is never right
How frustrating for you
How exhausting for me.
Some days I feel strong
And can ride the tide
Other days I am not
I walk away, or scream, or shout
Trying to figure it out
a way to compromise
To find a balance
Between wants, desires and reality.
Time, patience, a deep breath
A little more space
We figure it out
At our own pace.
